Abstract Value Study

This is an abstract portrait of my face. It was done using six colors. Shadows were used to create the lines of the face.  The background is an achromatic value study of the foreground painting. The overlapping of the figures in the background creates depth within the piece, and this open composition leaves room for the viewer to become involved with the picture.
